Job summary

APC Construction, a CRH Company, seeks a skilled equipment operator to safely run dump trucks, water trucks, and tractors delivering aggregates, asphalt, and other materials to residential and commercial sites.

Requires CDL Class A with endorsements, a DOT Medical Card, a high school diploma or GED, and 1–2 years of related experience. Must maintain records, communicate by radio, and work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years related experience or training.
• Valid CDL Class A with Air Brakes, Tanker, Double/Triples, Manual Transmission.
• DOT Medical Card required.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks, water trucks, and tractor units as assigned.
• Deliver aggregates, asphalt, water, equipment and materials to sites.
• Maintain time and material records accurately.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively via radio and assist team as needed.
• Connect and disconnect trailers and maneuver with trailers.

Position Overview

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of dump trucks, water trucks and or tractor unit (with and without pups, end dumps, belly dumps, lowboys, tanker (trailers) and tarping systems). Drivers will potentially deliver any or all types of aggregates, asphalt, water, construction equipment, AC Oil, and other materials to locations both residential and commercial.

Wage Range: $26 - $29 dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)

• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of dump trucks, water trucks and or tractor unit (with and without pups, end dumps, belly dumps, lowboys, tanker (trailers) and tarping systems related equipment to be operated.
• Can operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Must keep time and material records.
• Must follow verbal and written instruction.
• Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
• Knowledge of different types of construction equipment.
• Ability for maneuvering and backing with trailer.
• Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
• Connect and disconnect trailer.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates, License, Registrations

• Must possess a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A with appropriate endorsement: Air Brakes, Tanker, Double/Triples, Manual Transmission.
• Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.

Work Requirements

• Incident free driving record preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

Physical Requirements
