Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Arlington, VA is seeking a Data Engineer to own the data foundations behind the products and experiences spanning ProServe, Frontier AI, and services teams.

You will design, build, and operate pipelines and data models that enable AI agents and analytics at scale. You will partner with software engineers, product managers, and analytics teams to ensure data quality, reliable lineage, and scalable data platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• 1+ years building and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using ETL/ELT.
• 1+ years building and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using data modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries with large-scale, complex datasets.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of data pipelines: design, build, test, deploy, and operate.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT jobs that produce foundational datasets powering products and workflows.
• Model structured and unstructured data so it is queryable and consumable by AI agents at scale.
• Design data structures, schemas, and contracts that downstream services depend on.
• Build and own data-quality tooling: validation, reconciliation, anomaly detection, and monitoring.
• Ship to production regularly in a high-ambiguity environment balancing speed and reliability.
• Raise operational-excellence hygiene (data tests, monitoring, runbooks).
• Write clear data models, pipeline design notes, and runbooks.
