Job summary

Google Irvine, CA, USA is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the agentic AI data and insights program. You will shape the long-term technical vision, partnering with senior leaders across Core, Cloud, and GDM to drive analysis and insight generation.

You will mentor engineers, build shared component ecosystems (skills, sub-agents, RAG systems, embeddable UIs) and ensure enterprise coherence while translating cloud-generated ANSI SQL to Google SQL.

Qualifications

• 15 years of software engineering experience and leadership of multiple teams.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Architectural design and systems integration for enterprise-grade platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy for agentic data analysis across Google.
• Lead development of agentic tools and foundational technologies for Google-wide languages and systems.
• Mentor staff engineers and align initiatives across Core, Cloud, and GDM.
