Job summary

American Express is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Identity Access and Lifecycle Management team. You will architect automation for control testing, build AI-enabled agents, and partner with data and engineering teams to drive self-audit capabilities across enterprise controls.

You will translate complex security findings into concise risk-informed recommendations and develop dashboards to monitor control performance and threat observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/IS/Cybersecurity, Eng, or related field.
• 2+ years in cybersecurity, control management, or automation.
• Experience designing automated control testing or self-auditing capabilities.
• Knowledge of AI security, data protection, and responsible AI practices.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, APIs, and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated metrics for control effectiveness.
• Develop AI-enabled agents and automation workflows for self-auditing of controls.
• Analyze control testing outputs and cybersecurity telemetry for risk insights.
• Engineer dashboards and data products showing control health and trends.
