IntegriNurse- Fairview Commons in Great Barrington, MA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a long-term care setting. You will check vital signs, administer medications, and help comfort residents while adhering to policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher, at least one year of long-term care experience, and current RN licensure. You will document assessments, collaborate with physicians, and participate in shift handoffs

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic nursing care: check blood pressure, insert catheters, comfort patients.
  • Document ongoing patient assessments and care interventions.
  • Communicate with RNs and physicians about patient needs.
  • Collaborate with the health team to support patient wellbeing.
  • Educate patients and families on health information.
  • Administer medications per policy and monitor responses.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies.
  • Admit, transfer, discharge residents as required.
  • Complete medical forms, charts, and reports.
  • Verify patient identity before treatment.
  • Ensure adequate medications, supplies, equipment; report needs.
  • Maintain narcotics records and report discrepancies.
  • Provide thorough shift handoff reports.

  • Pay or shift range: $50 USD to $55 USD
    The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
Description
  • Provide basic nursing care such as checking blood pressure, inserting catheters, and helping comfort patients by performing tasks such as changing and dressing
  • Document accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status: Document patient care, including nursing intervention, patient response to care provided, patient needs, problems, capabilities, limitations, and progress toward goals
  • Communicate with RNs and physicians regarding patients’ needs
  • Collaborate with other nurses and health team members to ensure patients’ wellbeing
  • Teach patient/significant other appropriate health information in a timely manner and share written informational material, as applicable.
  • Perform direct patient care, using established procedures, policies, and standards
  • Prepare and administer medications according to policy and procedure.
  • Observe and document patients’ responses to pertinent medications.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc., as necessary.
  • Receive phone orders from physicians and record on the Physician’s Order Form.
  • Chart all reports of accidents/incidents involving residents. Follow established procedures.
  • Verify the identity of each resident before administering the medication/treatment.
  • Ensure adequate medications, supplies, and equipment are available. Report needs to DON.
  • Ensure narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
  • Notify DON of all drug and narcotic discrepancies.
  • Give a thorough, concise report at change of shift. Communicate pertinent information to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with safety and infection control policies and procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper disposal of soiled materials.
  • Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
  • Demonstrate correct and safe technique in the use of equipment, according to specific product information/instructions.
