Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure is required.
• Experience in long-term care setting preferred.
• Technical/other training or better as stated.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care such as checking blood pressure, assisting with catheterizations, and helping comfort patients.
• Document patient status, nursing interventions, responses, and progress toward goals.
• Communicate with RNs and physicians regarding patients’ needs.
• Collaborate with other nurses and health team members to ensure patients’ wellbeing.
• Teach residents and family members with health information and provide written materials when applicable.
• Prepare and administer medications according to policy and procedure.
• Observe and document patients’ responses to medications and manage emergencies promptly.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Complete medical forms, reports, and charting; receive physician orders and record them.
• Ensure narcotic records are accurate and report discrepancies to DON.
