Job summary

KeyBank Real Estate Capital is seeking a Closer within the Commercial Mortgage Group to manage end-to-end Agency loan closings, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac transactions, coordinating with internal teams, counsel, borrowers, and Agency contacts to ensure timely funding and delivery.

The ideal candidate has CRE closings experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent commercial real estate experience.
• Experience managing complex transactions in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of CRE closing fundamentals, documentation flow, and transaction management.
• Solution-oriented mindset with analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail across closing documentation and processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with strong aptitude for systems and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review each application, underwriting package, and credit approval to confirm transaction structure and closing requirements.
• Manage the closing process for Agency loans from assignment through funding, including due diligence and post-closing items.
• Coordinate with mortgage bankers, underwriters, counsel, servicers, borrowers, and vendors to satisfy closing conditions on time.
• Monitor current Agency guidance and forms published in relevant guides and resources.
• Utilize Agency websites and lender portals to validate requirements and support compliance with closing/delivery expectations.
• Ensure loans close in accordance with credit approval, internal policy, Agency requirements, and deadlines.
• Complete pre-closing and funding activities including review of entity docs, insurance, escrows, reserves, regulatory items.
• Identify issues early; develop practical solutions; escalate as needed.
• Maintain accurate loan information in systems with milestones and status updates.
• Prepare and distribute closing checklists; deliver documentation to servicing/delivery partners post-funding.
