Job summary

Hylant is seeking an Agency Accountant to manage monthly payments to insurance companies, investigate accounting differences, and follow up on overpayments or credits due to Hylant.

You will handle day-to-day payables, reconcile invoices, resolve carrier discrepancies, review aged payables, and support office staff as a liaison. This role emphasizes analytic rigor and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and/or 3-5 years’ relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional relationship development and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to formulate appropriate solutions.
• Flexibility and keen understanding of business situations will result in positive business outcomes.
• Cultivate an environment of solution, collaboration, and open-mindedness to resolve business problems/accounting discrepancies/etc.
• Demonstrated Microsoft suite skills.
• Experience with Applied/EPIC (Agency Management System) preferred.
• Experience with insurance accounting preferred.

The Opportunity

The Agency Accountant is responsible for processing monthly payments to various insurance companies, including investigating and resolving accounting differences between the insurance company and Hylant, following-up on overpayments or other credits due to Hylant, as well as following-up internally on past due items so that they can be remitted to the insurance carrier.

In This Role You Will Execute On

Responsible for day-to-day company payables of assigned entities including invoice retrieval and related reconciliation to client billing, payment processing, billing and carrier discrepancy resolution, and client receivables review. Monthly review of aged company payables report and documentation of old outstanding items for resolution. Act as accounting liaison for office staff for offices assigned. Engage in continual process review to promote more efficiency and effectiveness surrounding company payables and other related duties. Additional accounting duties as assigned.
