Job summary

Walinga USA in Iowa seeks a Trailer Equipment Technician/Mechanic to service and repair advanced trailer systems, ensuring safety and performance for customers.

This hands-on role covers diagnosing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and air systems, testing to Walinga standards, and contributing to a safe, productive shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical repair and reading drawings.
• 1 year hydraulics/pneumatics experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and air systems.
• Test and optimize trailer systems to meet standards.
• Advise supervision on repairs and future maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow safety protocols.
• Participate in training for Walinga equipment.

Overview

Walinga USA, a leader in the agricultural equipment industry, is seeking dedicated Trailer Equipment Technicians/Mechanics to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and some experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. This role is essential in ensuring our equipment operates efficiently and meets the highest standards of safety and performance for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and air systems using tools and specialized equipment
• Test and optimize systems to meet Walinga standards.
• Advise supervisors on work performed and general trailer conditions and recommend future repairs that may be required.
• Participate and specialized training for Walinga Transportation and pneumatic conveying equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace that adheres to safety standards.
• Perform other duties across departments as needed based on your skill set

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Mechanical repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, and 12-volt electrical systems (preferred).
• Welding experience and familiarity with welding tools/equipment is an asset
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and English instructions.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• A high school diploma (or equivalent) is an asset
• Driver’s License is an asset
• Ability to climb, walk, kneel, squat, and perform overhead work.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various temperatures.
