Job summary

Independence Bank in Havre, MT is seeking an AG/Commercial Lender to support our Wolf Point branch and community-focused lending activities. This role emphasizes prudent underwriting, credit risk assessment, and adherence to bank policies to minimize portfolio losses.

You will process and underwrite loans and lines of credit, prepare requests for in-house committees, and maintain credit files while assisting with workout efforts as needed. A Bachelor's degree and banking experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field; 3–5 years banking experience preferred.
• Experience in underwriting and credit risk assessment.
• Knowledge of loan products and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Process and underwrite loans and lines of credit with low risk to the Bank.
• Prepare and present loan authorization requests with adequate documentation.
• Maintain credit files, underwriting and compliance for assigned loans.
• Assist with collection and restructuring of current or problem loans as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for an AG/COMMERCIAL LENDER

• Process and underwrite loans and lines of credit with the lowest risk possible to the Bank
• Complete and present loan authorization request forms that are adequately supported for submission to the appropriate In-house committee.
• Responsible for credit file maintenance, credit underwriting and credit compliance of individual loan(s) and loan files
• Responsible for the collection and restructuring of current and/or problem loans as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business or related field; three to five years previous banking; may have an equivalent combination of education and experience. A person with an AG background is preferred.LOCATION: Must live in/ relocate to Havre CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid driver's license.
