Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta is seeking a Youth Development Professional to join our Programs team in Sparta, GA. This part-time, non-exempt role focuses on delivering engaging after-school and program activities for youth, while supporting safe, welcoming environments.

The YDP will plan and implement age-appropriate programs, supervise youth, encourage participation, and collaborate with staff and volunteers to promote positive youth development during afternoon and evening hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to minimum of 2 years.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Ability to handle interactions with the public.
• Knowledge of computer and data entry.
• Ability to provide science and technology programs for children ages 5-18; manages students and assigns tasks to volunteers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Establish weekly/monthly programs calendar aligned with goals and mission.
• Develop a schedule of programs and keep staff notebook updated.
• Encourage participation and provide constructive feedback to develop skills.
• Create an environment that promotes program participation.
• Register new members and participate in club orientation.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Implement and administer programs and activities for drop-in members.
• Monitor services to ensure safety and maintain facility appearance.
• Evaluate programs and adapt to members' needs.
• Participate in special programs/events as needed; may drive club van.
