Job summary

YMCA of Montclair is seeking a 7th Grade Initiative Staff member to support teen programs in Montclair, NJ. The position is part-time and focuses on leading activities, safety, and positive social interaction among participants.

Responsibilities include guiding teens, assisting with program transitions, and coordinating with the Teen Director to implement engaging activities while upholding safety procedures.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Prior experience working with youth and teens in a camp/daycare.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification OR certified within 90 days of employment.
• Excellent human relations, good organizational and communication skills.
• Must be able to follow directions and adhere to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interact with teens, fostering a welcoming and safe environment.
• Adhere to check in and check out procedures daily with participants.
• Collaborate with Teen Department Lead to create and implement program activities.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report accidents or safety concerns.
• Follow policies related to boundaries with members, volunteers, staff, and participants.
