Qualifications

• Youth experience assisting in classroom, afterschool, camp, or childcare settings with elementary or middle school youth.
• Empathy for McKinney‑Vento students navigating housing instability.
• Adaptability and teamwork with strong communication and dependable approach to supporting classroom needs.

Responsibilities

• Classroom & Academic Support: Guide small groups through homework, early literacy, and basic math under the lead teacher.
• Positive Behavior Support: Use trauma‑informed strategies to encourage positive interactions and model emotional regulation.
• Logistics & Daily Routines: Assist with snack distribution, activity setup/cleanup, attendance tracking, and safe transitions between learning spaces.
• 1-on-1 Mentorship: Provide focused attention to students needing extra encouragement or staying on task.
