Job summary

Lititz Christian School is seeking an energetic Afterschool Teacher to support students in our afterschool program across Lititz and partner districts. This part-time role involves covering classroom breaks during the day at an Early Learning Center and continuing at an afterschool site in the afternoon.

You will work closely with the ELC and school-age directors to engage children, implement weekly plans, and help build a positive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2500 hours of childcare experience or equivalent education courses completed.
• Must successfully pass all background checks including fingerprint and references.
• Ability to interact with children and the school age team, giving direction when needed.
• Engaging, upbeat, and warm personality with enjoyment of working with children.
• Excellent communication and team player qualities.

Responsibilities

• Cover breaks in classrooms at an Early Learning Center and transition to a Manheim After School site in the afternoon.
• Work with directors of both ELC and school age program to assist, oversee and engage with students.
• Collaborate with the afterschool team to provide oversight, ideas and creativity.
• Implement weekly lesson plans submitted by the director or site-lead.
• Oversee a group of school age children from kindergarten through 6th grade.
• Foster a strong sense of community among staff and children.
• Attend required staff trainings and meetings.
• Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00-5:30 pm.
