Job summary

Mountain View Academy in Denver, CO is seeking a passionate Closing Support Teacher to join our team for the after-school hours from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, to support students as they transition from class to after-care.

You will supervise, assist with homework and enrichment activities, coordinate with lead teachers and families, maintain attendance and dismissal procedures, and help uphold a positive, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 2 on PDIS required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Prior experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to pass a background check in accordance with Colorado state requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students during closing hours to ensure a safe and structured environment
• Assist with homework help, tutoring, and academic enrichment activities
• Facilitate engaging after-school activities and programs for students
• Communicate effectively with lead teachers and staff regarding student progress and behavior
• Maintain accurate attendance records and dismissal procedures
• Enforce school policies and positive behavior management strategies
• Coordinate with parents and guardians during student pick-up
