Job summary

The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division seeks a STEM Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and teach STEM afterschool activities for ages 6-11 at the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Chicago. The role focuses on curriculum development, materials management, and hands-on instruction within a safe learning environment.

Part-time, non-exempt, grant-funded position reporting to the Arts & Education Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of college with a degree in Education or STEM-related fields.
• 2 years experience in after school programming preferred.
• 2 years experience in youth engagement preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate program logistics for STEM afterschool activities.
• Assist tutors with STEM instruction and curriculum delivery.
• Develop and maintain inventory and organization system for materials.
• Align STEM curriculum with middle school instruction and standards.
• Foster a safe, supportive learning environment and engage diverse youth.
