Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Philadelphia is seeking an Educator Assistant for after-school and evening programming. This part-time role supports the Educator I in delivering educational and recreational activities for youth in grades K-7.

The ideal candidate will assist with homework, be a positive role model, and help plan events while maintaining a clean, organized environment. Availability includes some Saturdays for special events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; college credits in Education preferred.
• Experience in childcare or related field helpful.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Able to work with diverse populations and age groups.
• Safety oriented and responsive to direction/feedback.
• Able to transition from school year to summer programming.

Responsibilities

• Assist Educator I in implementing education and recreational activities for youth in grades K-7.
• Assist youth in grades K-7 with homework completion.
• Act as a role model for students.
• Exhibit positive rapport and strong communication with participants, staff and parents.
• Assist with planning and implementing special events and Family Nights.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
