Job summary

Brooklyn Prospect Charter School is seeking an After School Softball Coach to lead our spring season. You will design and deliver practices, develop players across positions, and guide the team through league play, reporting to the Athletic Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Strong softball knowledge and ability to teach hitting, pitching, fielding.
• Experience coaching female youth players and fostering team culture.
• Commitment to player development and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead structured softball practices that develop hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, and throwing mechanics.
• Teach game strategy including bunting, slap hitting, defensive shifts, pitch calling, and situational play.
• Prepare the team for league games through batting practice, defensive drills, and simulated game situations.
• Organize warm-ups, position-specific skill work, live at-bats, and cool-downs for every session.
• Ensure all softball equipment is properly maintained and in safe condition.
• Supervise students during practices, games, travel, and dismissal; communicate with the Athletic Coordinator.
