Job summary

Brooklyn Prospect Charter School is seeking a Volleyball Coach to lead our after-school volleyball program during the fall season. The Coach will design and run practices focused on skill development and team cohesion, and guide the team through league play.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, coaching or playing at a competitive level, and a passion for youth development. Salary is $25–$35 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year coaching youth aged 10–18.
• CPR/AED certification is required before season start.
• Concussion recognition training before season start.
• Background check required.
• Experience creating diverse, inclusive environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead structured volleyball practices focused on serving, passing, setting, hitting, and defense.
• Teach game strategy including rotations and in-game adjustments.
• Prepare the team for matches with drills, scrimmages, and film review when available.
• Organize warm-ups, conditioning, skill stations, and cool-downs for each session.
• Ensure all equipment is safe and properly set up.
