Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation in Brooklyn seeks a Program Director for the COMPASS after-school program to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with DYCD/DOH licensing. Under the Deputy Director of Youth Programs, you will supervise staff, plan schedules, manage budgets, and liaise with schools and parents to support youth development.

This full-time, on-site role offers up to 35 hours per week and a salary range of $63,500–$67,000, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
• Two years of supervisory experience in afterschool programs or youth services.
• Strong knowledge of DYCD/DOH licensing and related regulations.
• CPR and First Aid certification; required certifications for SACC/DOH/DYCD licensing.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and supervision of the entire program including assisting in budget development and modifications, and staff evaluation.
• Oversee outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and retention; ensure participants have resources to attain goals.
• Develop program schedules; supervise staff to align activities with curriculum and academic targets.
• Recruit, hire, train and supervise frontline staff; conduct regular staff meetings.
• Ensure health and safety guidelines and licensing requirements are followed.
• Engage families and the community; communicate with school representatives, parents, and stakeholders.
• Participate in professional development and design a curriculum for staff development.
