Job summary

City of South Salt Lake seeks a Prevention Navigator to support Promise SSL afterschool programs at Granite Park Junior High and Olene Walker Elementary. You will mentor youth, deliver prevention curricula, and assist with coalition initiatives while coordinating with the SOP Manager.

Responsibilities include lesson delivery, data collection, and community referrals, with a focus on creating a stable, nurturing environment for youth growth and success. Background checks required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Experience with youth, afterschool, or prevention science environment preferred.
• South Salt Lake community members and/or knowledge of South Salt Lake demographics encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Afterschool Program Prevention Facilitation (approx. 14 hrs/week): develop and implement hands-on prevention lesson plans and curricula; deliver at least 2 evidence-based lessons weekly; supervise youth and address behavior issues; collect attendance data; report successes/challenges to supervisors; conduct pre/post-surveys; support daily programming needs.
• Participate in GASMP Coalition Projects, Outreach, and Referrals (approx. 4 hrs/week): data collection, monthly reporting, referrals for families, community events, and coalition meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
