Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Tennessee Valley in Knoxville, TN seeks a Part-Time Pre-K Staff Youth Development Associate to deliver engaging activities for Pre-K members, supporting afterschool learning in a safe environment.

You'll help teach fundamentals, support social, emotional, language, and cognitive skills, plan age-appropriate lessons, and coordinate with families and teachers to monitor progress. This role requires a High School diploma and background checks; CPR cert offered post-hire.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience with youth preferred.
• Must pass local, state, and national criminal background checks.
• Must pass initial drug screening and subsequent drug tests.
• CPR Certification (certification offered post-hire).

Responsibilities

• Assist with teaching fundamental concepts for Pre-K club members, like identifying numbers and letters.
• Help develop social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language skills for Kindergarten readiness.
• Create hands-on learning opportunities (art, free play, storytelling).
• Assist with lesson planning addressing early childhood education requirements.
• Communicate with parents and teachers to monitor progress and individual needs.
