Job summary

Mission Graduates in San Francisco's Mission District seeks an assistant in a classroom-based program supporting students with moderate to severe impairments under IEPs. You will help implement lessons, collect records, and coordinate with staff and families to promote learning and engagement.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, adherence to standards, and sensitivity to a diverse community. 4 years in education or youth programs preferred; BA/BS required; TB screening mandatory.

Qualifications

• 4 years of proven experience in education and/or youth programs.
• Knowledge of best practices in youth development, curriculum development, teaching methods and evaluation.
• TB test clearance is mandatory prior to hire.
• Experience working in communities of color with low-income populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the direct delivery of instruction in classrooms for students with IEPs.
• Help implement lesson plans and review student work.
• Recordkeeping and parent conference participation.
• Support staff by operating instructional equipment and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
