Job summary

Hope Through Housing Foundation seeks a Part Time Afterschool Program Assistant at Sunflower Terrace in Houston, TX to work directly with students in a safe, supervised afterschool setting.

The role emphasizes health and wellness, life and character development, and academic and career exposure while you act as a positive role model and mentor. This part-time, non-exempt position reports to the Youth Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership abilities and a passion for supporting youth.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Enthusiastic attitude with proven ability to organize and coordinate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Afterschool Program Coordinator in monitoring and supervising students; ensure rules are understood and followed.
• Create engaging activities in health and wellness, character development, academic improvement, and STEAM.
• Help develop a calendar of activities that complements student learning and enrichment.
• Lead and supervise youth, recognizing potential issues and applying procedures.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and engaging environment for all participants.
• Serve as a positive role model through appropriate dress, speech, and conduct.
• Maintain cleanliness in program areas; assist with setup and breakdown on program days.
• Support daily snack/meals program including preparation, serving, cleanup, and meal records.
