Job summary

City of Cambridge seeks a dedicated Community Schools Teacher to lead afterschool enrichment for JK through fifth grade at the assigned site. You will supervise classroom assistants and high school youth, deliver age-appropriate curricula, and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will communicate regularly with families and school partners, manage attendance and scheduling, and contribute to program operations and equity initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some postsecondary education preferred.
• Two years of experience with school‑age children required.
• Three years in out-of-school time/enrichment with curriculum planning and supervising staff preferred.
• Experience with diverse cultural/economic backgrounds desirable.
• Certifications: First Aid/CPR (AED) required; additional certifications encouraged.
• CORI/SORI checks and health clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement 12-week age-appropriate enrichment curricula.
• Supervise and coach classroom assistants and high school youth workers.
• Maintain a safe, positive environment using SEL and trauma-informed practices.
• Communicate with families and school partners about participant progress.
• Record daily attendance and manage supplies and scheduling.
• Participate in staff meetings and equity initiatives.
