Job summary

The Community Group is seeking an Enrichment Educator for its Community Kids Place site in Lawrence, MA. The role delivers interdisciplinary, hands-on activities and provides homework help for school-age children in CKP programs.

Part-time after-school hours with a focus on DESE-aligned programming, safety, inclusion, and family engagement. Comprehensive background checks, medicals, and CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Uphold a passionate belief in The Community Group's mission, values, and educational model.
• K1-8 teaching experience and knowledge of Massachusetts frameworks is required.
• Willingness to learn about children’s growth and development.
• Enthusiasm for project-based learning; creativity in planning.
• Willingness to accept feedback and to modify projects to ensure high-quality programming that meets DESE guidelines.
• A strong understanding of children’s developmental and academic needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Ability to motivate and engage students in learning.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students and families.
• Completed background checks and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care.
• Evidence of physical examination within one year prior to employment.
• Evidence of immunizations against Measles, Mumps and Rubella; and
• Maintain current infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and environment that supports and encourages the growth and development of children.
• Ensure the care, safety, and well-being of children in the group.
• Provide a program inclusive to all children and families regardless of lifestyle and belief system.
• Participate in staff meetings, and on-going trainings.
• Complete all required certifications; and
• All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
