Job summary

DREAM in East Harlem and the Bronx seeks K-8 After School Enrichment Specialists to create diverse learning experiences for students in REAL Kids and DreamBuilders. Enrichment sessions are 45 minutes for groups of 18–20, supported by a Youth Worker.

Responsibilities include aligning with the DREAM model, embedding literacy, preparing materials, and maintaining safety. Start date 8/25/2026, end date 6/4/2027, schedule Mon-Thu 3–6:15pm with three days chosen with management.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old by start date.
• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or certification in related field preferred.
• 2+ years experience working with youth groups or equivalent.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons in specialty area.
• Demonstrated passion for the specialty area.
• Understanding of youth development and conflict resolution.
• Strong social, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in-person during all program hours.
• Aligned with DREAM mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver lesson series for PreK-3 aligned to the DREAM model, supporting exploration and enrichment.
• Design and deliver lesson series for Grades 4-8 culminating in a project or presentation.
• Collaborate with Youth Workers and leadership to provide cohesive experiences.
• Embed literacy throughout instruction.
• Prepare materials before activities and facilitate cleanup.
• Encourage active participation and professional behavior.
• Model positive conduct and ensure health and safety protocols.
