YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties seeks an Enrichment Coach in Lakewood, WA. This part-time role (up to 25 hours/week) involves delivering engaging curriculum, supporting homework and STEAM activities, and coordinating events to aid students academically, emotionally, and physically.

The position requires 18+ years old, 1 year in child care/education preferred, and may prefer bilingual English/Spanish. Background checks and training will be completed on day one, with comprehensive YMCA benefits

• Ensure that the goals of the program are achieved for each scholar.
• Assist in coordinating activities and events for parents, scholars, and staff, including field trips, guest speakers, and community service projects.
• Ensure that all curriculum and supplies are maintained throughout the program.
• Ensure scholars are receiving meaningful and engaging instruction.
• Implement and maintain a positive behavior-management system that is clear and aligns with the school, district, and state requirements.
• Always ensure the ongoing health and safety of attending children.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.
• Implement the provided curriculum.

External Description

Wage: $19.50 to $21.50 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)

Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

As anEnrichment Coach, you will ensure children receive meaningful and engaging instruction by implementing curriculum that support positive behavior-management and aligns with the school, district, and state requirements. If hired, you will provide daily physical and educational enrichment opportunities like homework support, STEAM activities, and sports & recreation – all while assisting in coordinating activities and events to support children academically, emotionally and physically giving parents confidence and peace of mind.

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Child Care and/or Education (preferred).
• Experience working in urban communities and managing an OST program or other community-based youth program (preferred).
• Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Demonstrated positive attitude, patience, and previous experience working with diverse populations.
• Strong drive to improve the minds and lives of scholars within the community.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
• Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
• Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
