Apple Montessori Schools in Morris Plains, NJ is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant for toddlers to support lead teachers, help children explore and develop independence in a caring, structured setting.

You will maintain a safe classroom, assist with lesson plans, track student progress, and communicate with families about growth and activities.

This role emphasizes nurturing, positive self-image, and hands-on mentorship through daily routines and ongoing staff development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children
• An understanding of health and safety guidelines.
• Capacity to multi-task

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all students enjoy a safe, sanitary and enjoyable learning environment.
• Collaborating with the lead teacher to implement lesson plans.
• Maintaining accurate student records and communicating progress with families.
• Encouraging students' positive self-image and supports individuality, independence, and creative expression.
• Modeling appropriate social behavior and engaging with students.
• Participating in staff development activities, educational trainings and mentorship program.
