Apple Montessori Schools in Towaco, NJ is seeking a Teacher Assistant to join our preschool team. You will support Lead Teachers, help children explore and grow, and foster independence in a nurturing Montessori setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe classroom, assisting with lesson plans, keeping records, and encouraging creativity and social development. The role offers a values-driven workplace with growth opportunities and a focus on child well-being.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
