Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a part-time Technician Assistant to support the afternoon clinic workload in the send-out department at Ocean Springs Hospital. Under supervision, you’ll handle specimens, perform basic testing, and assist in pre- and post-analytical lab processes.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and preferred laboratory, clerical, and terminology experience. Work schedule is 3pm-7pm, Monday–Friday with potential for shifts based on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Clerical and medical terminology experience preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and distributes specimens to the Specimen Control area or via pneumatic tube.
• Performs routine urinalysis (excluding microscopy) and prepares specimens for dispatch to reference labs.
• Performs Quality Control and preventive maintenance with proper documentation.
