Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. in Norwalk, CT is hiring for the Afternoon Assistant Teacher position (2:45 PM – 5:45 PM).

The role supports planning and implementing routines, curriculum, meals, and activities for preschool and infant-toddler children in Head Start/Preschool settings. Responsibilities include assisting Lead Teachers in classrooms of 14–20 children and working under the supervision of the Education Services Professional.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old required.
• Entry level; babysitting/childcare experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills (email, word processing, internet).
• Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• CDA Certificate or commitment to obtain within 1 year (employer paid).
• Early Childhood Education credits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist 1–2 classrooms in planning and implementing routines, curriculum, meals and activities for preschool/infant-toddler children.
• Serve as assistant to Lead Teacher(s) in a classroom of 14–20 Head Start/Preschool children and/or 7–8 Infant/Toddler children.
• Work under the direction of Lead Teacher(s) and supervise by Education Services Professional.
