Job summary

Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. (CIFC) Danbury Early Learning Programs seeks an Afternoon Assistant Teacher for 2:45 - 5:45 PM shifts to support 14–20 Head Start/Preschool children and 7–8 Infant/Toddler children.

Under Lead Teacher direction and Education Services Professional supervision, you will help plan routines, curriculum, meals and activities for ages 6 months to 5 years in a non-exempt, part-time role with benefits including holidays, PTO and EAP.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old.
• Entry level position; babysitting or childcare experience is preferred.
• Basic computer experience is required.
• Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required (completed or currently enrolled).
• CDA Certificate or a commitment to obtain a CDA within 1 year of employment is required (paid by the employer).
• Early Childhood Education Credits are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in 1-2 classrooms in planning and implementing routines, curriculum, meals, and related activities for preschool and/or infant/toddler children (ages 6 months-5 years).
• Serve as an assistant in a classroom of 14 to 20 Head Start/Preschool children and/or 7-8 Infant/Toddler children.
• Work under the direction of Lead Teacher(s) and be supervised by the Education Services Professional.
