Job summary

Priority Waste Resources in Flint, MI is seeking a Heavy Duty Machinery Mechanic to repair and maintain refuse vehicles and heavy equipment. You will work on brake, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, engine, HVAC, and chassis systems, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role requires hands-on diagnostic skills, welding/fabrication ability, and the capacity to perform road service calls when needed. Afternoon shift available with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years experience as a heavy-duty technician.
• Must be able to perform basic inspections of brakes, drivetrain, emissions, hydraulics, transmissions, general engine, steering and suspension.
• Shift: afternoon shift available.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• ASE Certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps up on maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Performs engine repair and maintenance.
• Performs welding and fabrication.
• Scans trucks and troubleshoots mechanical issues using electronic tools.
• Assists with DOT inspections.
• Completes oil changes and greasing trucks/equipment.
• Repairs tires, including replacement when necessary.
• Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles to enable minimal downtime.
