Job summary

NHC Place Sumner is seeking an Afternoon Healthcare Cook/Chef to join our team. The position runs from 11am to 8pm and is a full-time role with a competitive wage and comprehensive benefits.

The Cook will assist in food preparation, follow recipes and production sheets, and ensure proper portions and diets. Healthcare food service experience is preferred, but not required, with Banquet/Catering experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Healthcare food service experience preferred, not required.
• Banquet/Catering experience is preferred, not required.
• Able to work 11am–8pm shifts and adhere to schedules.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and portion control standards.

Responsibilities

• Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste.
• Reviews menus and production sheets; prepares and serves diets as planned.
• Follows standardized recipes and special diet orders to meet service needs.
• Tests and tastes foods for appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature.
