Magical Beginnings in Bellingham, MA is seeking a Floating Assistant Teacher for afternoon shifts. This entry-level educator role supports multiple classrooms, helping infants through preschool, and offers flexible hours and valuable childcare experience.

You will assist classroom teachers with daily activities, diapering, snack and nap routines, and supervision. The position requires warmth, energy, and a willingness to learn, with opportunities to grow toward a certified teaching role.

Qualifications

• EEC Teacher Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience (preferred, not required).
• Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting.
• An engaging and energetic demeanor and a love for helping young children meet and exceed their developmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Providing substitute coverage across classrooms when teachers are out sick, on planning time, or need a break throughout the day.
• Assisting classroom teachers with daily activities, lesson materials, free play, and outdoor supervision.
• Helping with daily routines, including diapering, snack and mealtime assistance, and naptime.
• Helping maintain cleanliness throughout the school, including classrooms, common areas, and shared spaces.
• Encouraging children’s participation through age-appropriate interactive activities.
• Building positive relationships with students, families, and fellow teachers.

We’re hiring a Floating Assistant Teacher for afternoon shifts at our Bellingham location. If you’re an entry-level educator, a caregiver with prior childcare experience, or someone looking to grow into a certified teaching role and comfortable supporting infants through preschool age, we’d love to meet you.

This vital role supports multiple classrooms, offering flexibility and variety while ensuring consistency in high-quality child care. Whether you’re soothing a toddler, inspiring preschoolers, or supporting fellow daycare teachers, you’ll be an essential part of our nurturing and collaborative community.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

Some requirements of the role include:

• Availability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility to work between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm
• Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
• Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset

As a Floating Assistant Teacher, you will be responsible for:
