Magical Beginnings in Plymouth, MA is seeking a dedicated Floating Assistant Teacher to support multiple classrooms within our center. This full-time role requires flexibility to work across early childhood spaces from infants to preschoolers, and to assist teachers with daily activities, routines, and supervision.

You’ll contribute to a nurturing, collaborative environment, while building relationships with families and helping children reach key developmental milestones during their day-to-day

Qualifications

• Experience caring for infants to preschool-age children.
• Center-based or private school daycare experience.
• Engaging, energetic demeanor with a passion for child development.
• EEC Certification or CDA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute coverage across classrooms when teachers are out or on breaks.
• Assist classroom teachers with daily activities, materials, free play, and outdoor supervision.
• Support daily routines including diapering, meals, and naptime.
• Help maintain cleanliness throughout classrooms and shared spaces.
• Encourage children’s participation through age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain EEC professional development hours and PQ registry (if applicable).
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow teachers.

We’re hiring a Floating Assistant Teacher for our Plymouth location. This full-time role requires flexibility to work within our center’s operating hours of 7:00 am–5:30 pm. If you’re an entry-level educator, a caregiver with prior childcare experience, or someone looking to grow into a certified teaching role and comfortable supporting infants through preschool age, we’d love to meet you.

This vital role supports multiple classrooms, offering flexibility and variety while ensuring consistency in high-quality child care. Whether you’re soothing a toddler, inspiring preschoolers, or supporting fellow daycare teachers, you’ll be an essential part of our nurturing and collaborative community.

• A passion for a career working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children
• Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting

• EEC Teacher Certification or CDA Certificate is a plus!

Some requirements of the role include:

• Availability to work a full time, flexible schedule within operating hours of the school
• Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
• Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset

As a Floating Assistant Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Providing substitute coverage across classrooms when teachers are out sick, on planning time, or need a break throughout the day
• Assisting classroom teachers with daily activities, lesson materials, free play, and outdoor supervision
• Helping with daily routines, including diapering, snack and mealtime assistance, and naptime
• Helping maintain cleanliness throughout the school, including classrooms, common areas, and shared spaces
• Encouraging children’s participation through age-appropriate interactive activities
• Maintaining your EEC-required professional development hours and PQ registry (if applicable)
• Building positive relationships with students, families, and fellow teachers
