Position Details

Dishwasher/Deli Clerk

This shift is scheduled between 1-9pm.

Position Objective: To assist customers in their shopping experience by providing assistance in the kitchen as needed and following all sanitary and health-related protocols.

Description: Dishwasher/Deli Clerk. This shift is scheduled between 1-9pm. The position reports to the Deli Manager. It is a non-exempt position.

Knowledge

Essential:

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.

Non-Essential:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Skills & Responsibilities

• Ensure all equipment, food prep areas, dishes, and utensils are cleaned according to Food Safety Guidelines.
• Empty and clean trash receptacles.
• Assist prep cook and kitchen staff as needed.
• Monitor product dates and rotate stock properly.
• Keep coolers, freezers, and prep areas clean and ready for deliveries.
• Unload shipments quickly and stock merchandise neatly.
• Meet productivity standards.
• Know department items to answer customer questions accurately and courteously.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.
• Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
• Follow all health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Use basic math and reading skills effectively.

Physical Abilities

• Reaching overhead, twisting, lifting up to 5 lbs.
• Pushing/pulling items up to 10 lbs.
• Standing and walking for long periods.
• Occasionally lifting up to 35 lbs.
• Bending and squatting to floor level.
• Work in cold conditions in coolers and freezers.

Additional Abilities

• Climbing ladders up to 5 ft.
