The Learning Experience in Gainesville, VA is seeking a Part-Time Afternoon Teacher to support our daycare and preschool classrooms during the second half of the day. You will engage children with play, crafts, stories, and routine activities, helping them end their day on a positive note.

Ideal candidates have prior daycare or early childhood experience and can commit Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The role offers training, growth opportunities, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous professional daycare, childcare, preschool, or early childhood experience required.
• Comfortable working with young children in a group classroom setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable and available Monday-Friday from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM.
• Must meet Virginia licensing requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Support classrooms and teachers throughout the afternoon.
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, stories, and hands-on activities.
• Assist with afternoon snacks, transitions, and classroom routines.
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management.
• Help maintain required classroom ratios.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Assist with classroom organization and end-of-day procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Follow Virginia licensing and center requirements.
