Job summary

Oakland Schools seeks an Afternoon Custodian to join our maintenance team. You will perform routine custodial tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and help maintain a clean, safe school environment.

A district fingerprint background check is required, with work from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and wages ranging from $18.33 to $21.34 per hour based on experience. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred custodial experience in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Physically able to perform tasks up to 75 lbs.
• Basic computer skills and reliability.
• Must pass pre-employment and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors, clean restrooms, and empty waste receptacles.
• Operate, clean and maintain custodial equipment.
• Maintain positive relationships with supervisors, colleagues, vendors and community.
• Follow laws and procedures for disposal of trash and chemicals.
• Learn and apply up-to-date cleaning methods and equipment.
• Report job-related problems through proper channels.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Lamphere Schools is contracting the services of EDUStaff for Afternoon Custodian

You will be required to have a district paid fingerprint criminal history check processed through the Michigan Department of State Police and FBI.

Work Schedule:8 hours/day, 3 PM - 11:30 PM

Wages:$18.33/hr - $21.34/hr based on experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Five years school custodial experience preferred
• Physically able to perform multiple tasks requiring moderate strength (up to 75 lbs.)
• Basic computer skills
• Self-motivated worker who takes pride in their work
• Willingness to assume responsibility for the cleanliness of all areas with focus on high-touch surface areas
• Must pass pre-employment and drug and alcohol tests
• Able to withstand the strain of the position
• Other qualifications as deemed necessary by the administration

Responsibilities:

• Performs routinely required tasks including sweeping, mopping floor, cleaning restrooms, emptying and cleaning waste receptacles
• Operate, clean and maintain all custodial equipment and tools
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, vendors and community members
• Comply with Federal, State and local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash, chemical and other materials/supplies
• Learn, maintain and implement up-to-date cleaning methods, materials and equipment as required
• Report job-related problems and concerns using appropriate channels in theappropriate order
• Other duties as deemed appropriate by the administration
