Job summary

Los Alamitos Unified School District seeks an Afternoon Shift Day Care Center Assistant to support a structured program for children after school. You will help implement activities, maintain a safe, healthy environment, and assist with behavior guidance.

You will collaborate with the Site Supervisor/Lead Assistant, communicate with parents, and ensure readiness of facilities and materials to promote learning and positive social development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some experience with youth in organized settings is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Implement a daily program that meets the needs of each child, considering interests, special needs, talents, and learning rate.
• Create and maintain an effective and attractive physical environment for learning.
• Provide a climate that supports self-esteem and positive attitudes and social skills.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior for active participation without disrupting the atmosphere.
• Establish a positive relationship with parents of students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
