Position Summary:

The Buyer, under the direction of the Director, Supply Chain, is responsible for aligning strategic business needs with supply solutions, optimizing day-to-day supply-base performance and optimizing the selection of suppliers and products. Must be able to work both independently and within a team solving complex tasks and problems.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Place material orders with specified suppliers to support production/parts requirements.
  2. To include: MRP analysis, MRO requirements and KanBan program support.
  3. Coordinate material deliveries with production schedule requirements.
  4. Maintain off-set parameters within the overall value stream map in regards to material availability.
  5. Management of excess/obsolete material.
  1. Expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery.
  2. Management of supplier base.
  3. Management of cost improvement (cost take out) projects.
  4. Efficiently analyze and process daily emergencies that arise to meet critical production deadlines.
  5. Maintain accurate supplier information in the MRP system Item Master.
  6. Process material returns, as needed.
  7. Comply with overall company 5S and lean initiatives.
  8. Adhere to the Company’s Safety and Housekeeping policies.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or technical school certificate with appropriate experience in the HVAC Industry.
  2. Experience with ERP software.
  3. Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  4. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.
