Job Summary

The Aftercare Worker supports the school community by providing safe, nurturing, and engaging after-school care for students. This role plays a vital part in the daily lives of families and children, ensuring a structured and caring environment during after-school hours. Ideal candidates are dependable, patient, and genuinely enjoy working with children.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage a designated group of children during aftercare hours
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the program
  • Lead and participate in age-appropriate games, activities, and quiet time
  • Maintain a calm, respectful, and structured environment
  • Assist with snack time, clean-up, and transitions between activities
  • Report any behavioral or safety concerns to the Aftercare Coordinator or school leadership
  • Maintain daily attendance and accurate records for assigned group
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow staff
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or child development preferred
  • Experience working with children in a school, daycare, or camp setting is a plus
  • Ability to manage groups of children calmly and effectively
