Primer is seeking an enthusiastic Aftercare Program Guide to supervise and engage students from kindergarten through eighth grade in the afterschool program. This part‑time role emphasizes a safe, supportive, and fun environment that supports the school community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher.
• Prior experience working with children and creating engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with students, families, and school staff.
• Demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and a positive attitude.
• Can effectively manage time and resources to create a smooth and enjoyable aftercare experience.
• Willing and able to complete state database fingerprinting, a background check and Mandatory Abuse Reporting training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage all students enrolled in the Aftercare program.
• Ensure student safety at all times by knowing the location of all students and following authorized pick‑up protocols.
• Implement structured daily programming aligned to the aftercare schedule.
• Opening Circle: snack time and daily connection
• Physical Activity: staff‑led activities that supports healthy movement and teamwork
• Academics: student‑choice academic time (e.g., educational boardgames, reading, book clubs)
• Skill‑Building Activities: games and challenges that promote real‑life skills
• Adapt activities to meet the needs of your group and the space available
• Build positive relationships and maintain respectful communication with students, families, and school staff
• Understand and follow emergency and safety protocols outlined by the school leadership
