Job summary

First Step Healthcare LLC is seeking a Youth Behavioral Respite Provider to support families in the Columbus, OH area. The role offers short-term relief to caregivers of youth with behavioral health needs, supervising youths during home-based or community sessions according to OhioRISE plans.

You will plan activities, maintain confidentiality, and complete brief service notes. Travel across Franklin County is required, with mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass BCI/FBI background check.
• First aid certification and trauma-informed care training preferred or provided.
• Availability for weekday afternoons/evenings and some weekend sessions.

Responsibilities

• Provide 3–6 hour supervision sessions for youths (and siblings).
• Plan and lead age-appropriate recreational and community activities.
• Follow care plans and use trauma-informed approaches.
• Model coping, social, and daily-living skills.
• Recognize escalation signs and use de-escalation techniques; call for help if needed.
• Transport youth to activities in your own vehicle.
