Job summary

St. Martin de Porres Family Center, operated by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland, seeks a youth program assistant to mentor and support children and teens in after-school and community programs.

The center provides early childhood services, home visitation, and food assistance in the Glenville area. You will plan activities, mentor youth, and foster a safe, respectful environment while coordinating with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 1–3 years’ experience leading children/youth activities.
• Knowledge of youth/children programs preferred.
• Six months to a year of experience with children preferred.
• Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Problem solving ability required.
• Ability to coordinate, prioritize and respond to multiple issues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and assist in daily activities.
• Instruct and participate in physical activities to engage students.
• Follow rules and regulations (ODJFS and SUTQ).
• Assist with lesson planning and group facilitation.
• Provide homework and tutoring assistance.
• Provide healthy snacks/meals within guidelines.
• Supervise children and promote safety and respect.
• Recruit and enroll children into the program.
• Maintain confidentiality with parents.
