Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a proactive Youth Development Site Director to lead the Beulah Elementary School before- and after-school program. You will supervise on-site staff, design development programs, ensure licensing compliance, and foster a safe, inclusive space for children and families.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff.
• Experience leading groups of youth.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Positive, enthusiastic leadership style.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Virginia DOE licensing qualifications (college coursework or CDA) required.

Responsibilities

• Designing, planning, and implementing engaging, age-appropriate developmental programs.
• Overseeing day-to-day operations of the child care center.
• Supervising and mentoring on-site staff.
• Creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for school-age children.
• Building relationships with children and families; serving as key communication point.
• Collaborating with school officials and YMCA leadership.
• Ensuring compliance with Virginia DOE licensing requirements and YMCA standards.
• Managing site safety, equipment, and facilities.
• Attending and leading required child care trainings.
• Supporting program administration, budgeting, and staffing needs.
