Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a positive Youth Development Center Director to plan programming, supervise children, and support center operations at Cloverhill Elementary School. The role runs 2:00pm-6:00pm and offers a chance to coach staff and build community connections.

You will lead on-site staff, ensure safety and licensing compliance, and partner with families and school staff to deliver welcoming, high‑quality after‑school experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience leading groups of youth.
• Virginia DOE licensing qualifications (college-level coursework or CDA) required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site staff.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for school-age children.
• Build strong relationships with children and families and serve as a key point of communication.
• Ensure compliance with Virginia DOE licensing requirements and YMCA quality standards.
• Manage site safety, equipment, and facilities.
• Attend required child care trainings.
