Job summary

University of California, Merced is seeking learning assistants to support after-school tutoring and Saturday Academy for high school students. You will serve as a leader, advisor, and role model under the supervision of project directors.

This part-time, on-site role welcomes both undergraduate and graduate students and involves advising, guiding sessions in Math, English, Science, and more, while coordinating with teachers and maintaining progress records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
• Pursuing Bachelor's Degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (Required).
• Experience working with high school students in classroom settings (Required).
• Strong knowledge in Math/Science and/or English Language Arts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to students individually or in small groups.
• Assist teachers during Saturday Academy sessions.
• Guide student groups in Math, ELA, Science, Foreign Language, History and Social Studies.
• Maintain and communicate progress records and reports as assigned.
