Job summary

University of California, Merced is seeking Learning Assistants to support after-school tutoring and Saturday Academy for 9th–12th grade students. Open to both undergraduate and graduate students, this on-site, part-time role supports education in Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science, and more.

Under supervision, you will provide academic advising, help review concepts, assist in sessions, and track student progress while collaborating with teachers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• In the process of attaining a Bachelor's Degree; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Experience working with high school aged students in classroom setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to students individually or in small groups.
• Determine concepts to review from student notes and discussions.
• Assist teachers with Saturday Academy sessions.
• Guide student groups in Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science, Foreign Language, History and Social Cultural Studies.
